There's no way I would have anything to do with that woman. I simply stated that the rule of law must take precedence in this case, and that she should be presumed innocent unless, or until, she can be proved guilty. I never said that I didn't think she was guilty, and her being presumed innocent by the law doesn't mean people ought to believe she's innocent; it simply means that she shouldn't be punished for a crime that no one can prove she's actually committed.

Equal protection under the law is more important to me, and I don't care to see myself or my family ever end up in prison for crimes we didn't commit. The simple fact of the matter is Casey's daughter is dead, and unless solid evidence crops up unexpectedly (which is always possible), we simply can't convict her of murder and claim to be following our own laws. Blackcat nailed it a few posts ago - socially, there's plenty of evidence that she committed the crime... But if we start convicting people based on social evidence, we're going to end up being no different then 1933 Nazi Germany, in which citizens feared their own neighbors more then the SS or Gestapo. This brings me back to my first post in this thread...
