Bethesda has just released their official trailer for the upcoming Elder Scrolls game, "Skyrim." They released the "teaser" trailer a few months ago. The official trailer starts out much like the teaser trailer did. As I predicted, this game is going to signal the beginning of the end of the current generation of gaming consoles. It will be the most visually impressive game ever created. Release date is scheduled for 11-11-11.

For the best experience, watch it in 720p HD. :D

I'm sure it'd run, but we really won't know how it'll do on max settings until they release the system requirements.

The Elder Scrolls genre is my favorite game series. I've put more hours into Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind than I have in DF2 (no joke). Morrowind was incredible for its day - at the time it was the most visually impressive and detailed game ever created (released in 2002). Then came Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion right after the release of the Xbox 360 (released in 2006). Oblivion's visuals were the most impressive for its day as well, but the game itself failed miserably in comparison to Morrowind (although it was still quite fun). The lore, size, detail, storyline, and the "immersiveness" of Morrowind was far superior. I'd still venture to say that Morrowind is still the most immersive game ever made - you never loose the feeling of wondering what's in the next cave or over the next hill, or seeing if you can find the treasures hidden in things like tree stumps out in the wilderness - not to mention Morrowind's musical score is gorgeous (with the music overtones even making it into Skyrim, it appears).

I'm anxious to see if Skyrim can match Morrowind and make you feel you were part of the game world, something Oblivion wasn't able to pull off. Can you tell I'm excited? :D
