GameRadar

I was contacted the other night by a member of the GameRadar team. He was looking for help with some DFLW/TFD and DFBHD questions, and I was largely unable to help him. However, I quizzed him about his product "gameranger" (link to their about page). I was skeptical at first, but this program really makes sense, and it will be a great easy replacement for the failing novalobby. Do note that the DF series is not "supported" yet. It does not show up in their game list until (i hope) the next update.

Here's the basics of how it works: you run a Lan Server, and anyone running gameranger can see it.

That's it!

I know one thing for sure.. I'm on board! Here are some screenshots:

hey guys, good to see a couple of people are working on a fix, last news I had was for the df2OMG (One More Go) project, so this is another alternative
hopefully one of these options will be a final solution to keep the game going.
I hadn't been online, my house burned down about 7 weeks ago and I've been living in my car since waiting on the insurance company to send me a check.
Hoping yoiu guys will still be playing and I'll get to battle you all again in the future when I get back on my feet again, even if that doesn't happen I just wanted to say it was great meeting and playing with you guys for all those years,
Snipe ya later,
Pho

Phobos!

I'm glad to see you're doing well bro, long time no see! Sorry to hear about the house burning down, that's so tragic.. if there's anything we can do in the meantime to help out, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Other than that, how have things been?

That would be like asking Hitler in late 1944: "Other than the Allied forces reclaiming France and Russia closing in from the east, how's things going in Germany?"

On a more serious note. Your house burned down and you're living in a car... That insurance company better get a move on.

I didn't mean it that way and I should have asked it differently.

What I meant to ask was are things working out for the better so far? Is everyone alright from all of it?

I'm just teasing bro. You've been away for so long you've forgotten that Zorro and Bullet Magnet both have strange senses of humor. :D

no problem, luckily I lived alone, took care of my dad for 7 of the last 9 years but he passed away 2 years ago, so I'm glad he was already gone when it happened.
I wasn't at home at the time it started and when I got back the fire department weren't even trying to put it out, just standing around watching it burn, then they sent me a bill for $675 for that. I lost everything I owned (except my car), everything I have now (what little it is) was donated to me, basically I'm working any odd jobs and scrapping whatever I can just for gas money. I'm still playing the hurry up and wait game with the insurance company, they're probably hoping I'll freeze to death first if they wait long enough, but I survived -12 degrees last year and I'll do it again if I have to, other than that at least I'm not Hitler in 1944
