I don't get it. How do spammers do that?

Should be fixed now. I updated the phpBB installation. I also added a CAPTCHA to the registration form.

Friggen suckers. I put a more powerful captcha up. Maybe that'll help.

Also set it to verify email before account is activated. Hopefully that'll fix it.

These spam bots are horrible. We had about 200 registrations over the last 2 days. But they all failed because I had set all registrations set to require manual activation by an administrator. But my goodness, this was even with a powerful image CAPTCHA in place. I went ahead and installed a new CAPTCHA system called KeyCAPTCHA, since Google's ReCAPTCHA and the GD CAPTCHA libraries weren't stopping the bots. I'm also going to keep admin activation on for a while until the bots move on.

Posting what CAPTCHAs you are using in the post will better enable the bots to figure it out. You have to learn to be safe outside your code, pal.

You're funny. The name of the CAPTCHA is plastered right on it.
