Revival of DF2

Postby Jackal » November 18th, 2016, 5:05 pm

Hey all,

I know it's been a while, and I apologize, but things have been very, very hectic. Lots and lots of changes over the years.

However, I think it has been long enough and we need to revive our squad and this game. As of today, we will be working on getting a permanent DF2 server up (courtesy of Pause) and advertising the game again on social media. We will have a pre-compiled folder that contains everything a person needs to run the game, and we will be having our C-iX Open up soon. Our C-iX Open will contain all of our original custom maps, including the Flagball and KOTH maps that made Cloud Nine one of the best squads in gaming warfare.

However, in order to do this, we need your support. We don't need money, just your time and effort. Once we have the links available, we ask that members of our forums please repost on their own profiles of social media to get the numbers to grow. With all the warfare games out there, I can see how some would be hesitant to re-join something like this. But remember, this game started gaming warfare: custom open world maps, multiple weapons, characters/outfits, real world sniping, assault rifle tactics, etc. This game started gaming warfare and we owe it to the developers and ourselves to keep that spirit going.

Links, C-iX open, and more details to come. Stay tuned!

Make sure the DF2 Lobby Fix is already patched into the game files you supply.

Yay! Keep us posted!
Research shows that one in three Clinton supporters are just as stupid as the other two.

Not sure. Only one way to find out.

Anybody have the Steam version? If not, we need a guinea pig. I'll set up a PayPal and everyone can donate $20 to me so I can buy it.

We will have this day and DF2 and C-iX will live again. As long as we stick together and post the shit out of this game on social media, we will see the day. We make it as easy as possible to play and the fact that it doesn't require much helps.

Many people/squads have attempted to revive DF2 over the years, including C-iX, but these attempts inevitably die out. Attracting new/returning players is a very slow-going and generally fruitless task.

Our best bet to squeeze some fun out of this is to organize events which the majority of C-iX can attend. Another idea that I think could be really neat is a squad mapping contest. I believe the majority of us mapped back in the day, and it'd be super fun to dust off the MED again.
