The quick-release lever is there for the bike to swing in half so it can fold. These bikes were made for every branch of the military so that you can just fold them and put them in packages and drop them out of planes into the air with parachutes. Pretty awesome I guess.


Is that for real? :O

I have a friend in Alaska who is a paratrooper for the US Army, and he has a bike that looks pretty similar to BC's Hummer... Except it had a different name and was a dark red. But it had the big bar and fold up stuff like BC's Hummer does. Maybe there's a connection between fold-up bikes and paratroopers. rofl. :lol:

There is a connection! They really drop them out of planes. Zorro, your friend's bike most likely said "Montague" on the big top bar. That's the predominate manufacturer of military-issued folding bikes and also the same company that made my Hummer. :geek:
