How to configure your router for hosting

Below is a descriptive step by step on how to configure your router for DF2 hosting.

1) In the address bar at the top (www.whatever.com); type in 192.168.0.1, or something like this. Each router has a different default IP, you can find this information by double clicking the two monitors icon in the bottom right hand corner, click the Support tab; the default is the one you use. This works for Vista too. If this icon is not down there, not an issue. Click Start>Network Connections.. you want to find the Local Area Connection.. right click, and scroll down to Properties, check the box that says to show the icon when connected. There you go.

2) You'll be prompted for a username and password. Again, each router is different.. but this is the default information for a majority of routers (DLink, LinkSys, etc).
User - Admin
Pass - admin
If this information does not work, your router's support website will have it.

3) Once logged inside the router, look for the "port forwarding" section. You need to add DF2 in the applications list.
Application Name - df2.exe
Ports - 8767-8767
Port Type - UDP
Apply these settings.

4) Next, you need to go into the "DMZ" section. Allow DMZ.. now, some routers ask for what IP to do it on; using the trick in step 1 to see your default IP, use your current IP address to throw in that slot.

This is how you configure the router.

Now, as far as firewalls.. there is no configuring, just turn them off.
