The only thing I got for Christmas was some cookies from my sister-in-law. Nothing else whatsoever. Which is fine, because I've already been given The Greatest Gift that's ever been given; He's the reason for the season.

I'm sick too. :geek:

Zorro, what happens if your kid doesn't believe in God? Would he/she get nothing for Christmas?

There was this adult gift exchange game during a family Christmas party and I somehow got stuck with an RC helicopter!!! Nobody else took it. I felt like a kid again. It's a Syma 4ch one... I learned that they only cost $25!!! Super fun... I thought it was indestructible because I crashed it about 100 times before part of the shaft broke. No biggie -- a new shaft is on its way from California for only $4.

Now I understand how RC stuff can be so addicting. It's just so much fun.

Little coaxials like that are fun because they require virtually no skill to fly, are cheap, and dern near crash proof. If you're curious about the hobby, a coaxial is the best way to get your feet wet. A coaxial is how I entered into the hobby, except my first one was a Blade CX2 (bigger, much higher quality, tons of third party/aftermarket upgrade options, etc). After a coaxial, you'll likely move to a fixed pitch bird, and then to collective pitch birds. Many pilots will spend weeks or even months learning how to hover a collective pitch bird without crashing. Once you've got your basic upright orientations down on a collective pitch bird, it's just pure fun from there and you can start learning your inverted orientations or try some upright circuits and forward flight.

I'll look more into fixed and collective pitch birds. They sound very interesting.

I think I should master the 4ch one I have now though. ;) It's so much fun challenging yourself to have it land where you want it to: on top of cans, cup holders, etc. What does your fleet look like, Z?
